Neil Chapman

More than 25 years working on or responding to public affairs issues and crises that have grabbed the major headlines – refinery explosions, oil spills, helicopter incidents as well as trading scandals and court cases.

He is now a partner with WPNT Communications Europe.

Over the years he worked with scores of executives to help them communicate more effectively in support of their businesses and he held various management positions – Public Affairs Director and Head of Refining and Marketing Communication for BP.

He has an extensive experience of responding to crises and emergencies in different parts of the world, including a suspected terrorist bombing in Colombia; community evacuation in Louisiana; oil spills and helicopter crashes.

He is an expert in crisis communications response, presentation and media training and issues management.

Dimitri Schildmeijer, Belgium

Dimitri

Dimitri is a Partner in WPNT Communications Europe. WPNT is a global communications training company specialized in the crisis communications and stakeholder engagement. In this capacity, Dimitri works with business leaders around the world on crisis communications programs including crisis leadership, crisis media interaction and crisis and social media.

He ran crisis training programs for Fortune 20 energy companies in Abu Dhabi, Angola, Australia, China, Egypt, Germany, India, Nigeria, Poland, Singapore, The Netherlands, UK and the USA.

For eight years, Dimitri held various positions in the communications and public affairs department of ExxonMobil Petroleum & Chemical Europe. He was responsible for the Regional Crisis Response team and the Benelux Crisis Communications Planning.

Over his career, Dimitri has been involved in issue and crisis management including operational incidents, restructuring, divestment, asset sale, food poisoning, EU anti-trust investigation, NGO campaigning, personal accidents and  pandemic flu crisis planning.

Dimitri Schildmeijer (44) is also the Co-Chair of the International Gas Union study group on Communication & Public Acceptance of Natural Gas Projects. This study group focuses on how to address the local NIMBY challenge and create trust with communities that are impacted by natural gas projects.

 

Dimitri holds a Master’s degree in communications from the University of Amsterdam. He lives just outside of Brussels and speaks English, French and Dutch.
